Little Fish Big Fish
Some doodles from this week
Happy Valentines Day.
I took Yvonne to L’antagoniste, a French restaurant in Brooklyn. When we arrived and notified our host of our reservation, he made a joke and went: “John Lee? Bruce Lee.” I thought that was pretty funny because I didn’t really get it. I laughed and went “Oh yes, a distant relative of mine.”
He later came by our table and apologized for his joke, which I thought was unnecessary because he was also Asian and I found the attempt of the joke welcoming. But it was also funny to me that he apologized nonetheless.
After dinner we watched the new Captain America.
My friend Christine visited from Boston and we did loads of shenanigans to pass the time. We went to The Met, played games, ate good food. It’s always fun to host a friend you wished could live closer.
We shot some pool at the local bar I found last week, where I met Kevin and Cam. We played a total of 1 million games and only won once. This is a video of Enrique winning our only game:
Very cool, very fun.

Little Fish Big Fish
I have been feeling increasingly radical over the past year. Maybe it’s the new administration. Maybe it’s Luigi.
Everything is messed up. Last night there was another plane accident. The quality of affordable goods and services are shit. Systems are built with inefficiencies that the people are responsible to pay for. Eggs are expensive.
It may all seem unrelated but I can’t help but think that we, the little people that work hard to live normal day-to-day, are helplessly suffering because of the greed and selfishness of the rich and powerful.
It makes me sick to my stomach.
Above is a boy I drew, joyfully stomping on the cold remains of a larger predator.
Doodles
Wow that was kinda dreadful! Gyatdam! Here are some random character doodles I drew last night while watching SNL:
REX
Also, watched this movie with some friends called “Perfect Days.”
It’s about a Japanese toilet cleaner who has a penchant for cassette tapes. It’s a thoughtful depiction of routine and the emotions that hide behind it.
Thx for reading! May all your dreams come true <3
